Set in the mountains of Dota, Costa Rica, Bouroncle House begins with a precise reading of the terrain. The slope was neither corrected nor ignored it was the starting point. From it emerges a longitudinal volume that fragments into two bodies: a solid base that anchors itself to the earth, and an upper volume that rises above it, lighter and more permeable, following the topography as if it had always belonged there.<\/p>

The sloped roof unifies both bodies and accentuates the directionality of the composition, extending outward to generate intermediate spaces and transitions between inside and out. This element is not merely a enclosure\u00a0 it is what gives the project its formal coherence, making it legible as a whole without suppressing the tension between its parts.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The house doesn’t resist the slope, it learns from it fragmenting, adapting, and ultimately dissolving into the forest it was always meant to belong to.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Toward the landscape, the volume opens fully through large glazed planes that dissolve the boundary between the house and the Dota forest. The interior spills toward the trees, the mist, and the filtered light of the valley. Toward the entrance, the project closes and filters, building a more contained envelope that protects the privacy of the interior spaces.<\/p>

The mountains of Dota demand a certain humility from architecture. At this altitude, surrounded by cloud forest and shifting light, the instinct to assert form gives way to something quieter a desire to listen rather than speak. Bouroncle is the result of that discipline: a house that earns its place not through gesture, but through restraint. Every decision, from the material palette to the sectional strategy, was made in service of one thing making the boundary between living and landscape as thin as possible.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
